Introducing the next evolution of our product: Alerts & Insights. Designed to provide deeper insight into applicant risk and to support end-to-end verification automation.

We recognise that your needs extend beyond compliant access to verified employment and income data. That's why we've been focused on identifying the additional challenges you encounter when verifying employment and income data end-to-end, and developing innovative solutions to help you make quick and accurate verification decisions. 

Whether you're involved in employment screening, tenant referencing, or financial services, we're expanding our product to support even more of your end-to-end verification processes.

To do this, today we are introducing the next evolution of our product by adding a comprehensive suite of Alerts & Insights designed to provide deeper insight into applicant risk and to support the automation of critical aspects of the verification process.

Why this matters for Konfir users

Traditional verification processes are fraught with challenges; from attempting to contact non-existent or dissolved employers, to managing unresponsive referees, or dealing with fraudulent documents. Our new suite of Alerts & Insights directly addresses these pain points, offering tools that streamline operations while enhancing accuracy and security across sectors.

As we roll out Alerts & Insights, certain checks will work for 100% of your users, regardless of whether the applicant connects to data sources via Konfir. Our Reference Fraud Check, and our new Company Trading Date Check do not require the user to interact with Konfir because data is checked against information from sources such as Companies House. This means that, even if an applicant doesn’t convert by connecting data sources with Konfir, you’ll still get the benefit of these checks

What’s included in Konfir’s suite of Alerts & Insights?
1. Employment Date Alerts

Employment Date Alerts identify discrepancies between the dates provided by applicants and those verified through one or more data sources. This is designed to help organisations quickly identify red flags such as undisclosed gaps, and act accordingly. For our API customers, you’ll be able to define thresholds for acceptable variances and tailor behaviour to different risk appetites.

2. Employer Name Alerts

This flags inconsistencies between the employer names reported by applicants and those verified by Konfir. Our API customers can configure thresholds based on the similarity between employer names. 

3. Company Trading Date Check

The Company Trading Date Check detects when an applicant has listed an employment with a company that was not trading for part, or all, of the employment period the applicant declared.  

Leveraging our Employer Database, which includes all Companies House data, this tool quickly identifies exaggerated employment periods and undisclosed gaps. It also means that you’ll know when a company is no longer trading, and therefore where it isn’t worth sending or chasing a reference for an employer (because the company isn’t going to respond!). Use this check to supercharge your referencing strategy, understand differences between declared and verified data, and remove redundant emails and calls to HR departments that no longer exist. 

4. Undeclared Employment Check

We’ve been returning Undeclared Employments for some time already, but we’ll now alert you to these more prominently. This tool helps your team uncover potentially concealed histories, ensuring thorough verification and risk management. This means you could issue a reference request for those undeclared employments that were potentially concealed to avoid a new employer receiving adverse information in a reference.  

5. Reference Fraud Check

The Reference Fraud Check isn’t new but remains a cornerstone of our Alerts & Insights. It is designed to identify fraudulent references and alert you to take extra care when verifying through less secure methods.
