Last week Konfir’s Head of Sales and Customer Success Robin Clarke welcomed Adecco Group’s Richard Horth for a discussion on Adecco’s verification process and where UK employment and income verification is heading. Since the beginning of 2024, Konfir has been a key partner for Adecco Group supporting them to streamline the verification processes for their clients, focussed on compliance, efficiency, and data security.
Konfir’s Robin Clarke opened up the discussion by asking Richard Horth “How have your clients treated and understood implementing your new way of income and employment verification”
Richard highlighted the benefits of Konfir since the start of the partnership, related to speed and compliance. He praised the platform's impact on Adecco's operations, noting how their clients have welcomed the introduction of Konfir (this division of Adecco is currently working with 60 clients, processing between 6-10K applicants a year) primarily due to significant improvements in processing times and adherence to compliance standards.
“Our customers care about speed and compliance - and Konfir has really helped us in these areas. We’ve implemented Konfir as a productivity gain, with a screening team alongside the process. Konfir backs updates of employment compliantly and pretty much eliminates fraud. It complements more traditional verification services and has been a game changer, changing non-responsive, heavy labour-intensive verification processes into ones that can be done digitally, really quickly.”
Richard added,
“So since the start of the relationship with Konfir in 2024 64% of our applicants have completed the verification process within 30 minutes, and 79% have completed this within 24 hours (start to finish). The actual process is done instantly and the rest of the time is waiting for the applicant to start it because it’s not integrated yet. That’s a big sell for us when I'm meeting with large customers, especially in a market we're in now where there is a talent shortage, the speed of the process of onboarding is really important. It's something that we constantly reach out to our candidates to get feedback on.”
Focusing on user experience, Richard talked about conversion rates since implementing Konfir, indicating high levels of candidate engagement and satisfaction. He noted the effectiveness of Konfir in facilitating a smooth verification process:
"We're seeing an 85% conversion rate when we send the Konfir link to our candidates whilst they’re going through the verification process. This experience of using Konfir has been received really positively by our clients. They trust us and now they trust Konfir.”
Adecco was an early adopter of Konfir’s suite of Fraud Checks, including the Reference Fraud Check which instantly identifies organisation names that have previously been used in fraudulent references. Richard highlighted the advantages of using Konfir to ensure data integrity and security, transforming traditionally cumbersome processes into an efficient, digitally driven operation:
“Compliance is really important. We cannot put people out to work who are not compliant across every industry we work with. In this role, I’ve come across Reference Houses, who automatically approve references for people. You would spell the name of a company maybe with one letter differently, and you'd put that as your email reference. The experience with Konfir has been so positive, it actually eliminated this risk entirely.”
Looking forward, Richard discussed the potential future developments in verification technology. He envisioned a digital-first approach where data ownership and transferability become the norm, significantly simplifying the verification processes across various sectors:
"The utopia question, I think it's got to be moving towards a digital world, where candidates can own their own data and share between clients and recruiters alike."
The session concluded with a Q&A, where Richard answered various questions about Adecco's integration of Konfir, the challenges faced, and the future direction of the verification industry.
