Meet Hope Latham, our new Head of Operations

We are thrilled to announce that Hope Latham has joined Konfir as our new Head of Operations. With a rich background in fintech and financial services, Hope brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in operational excellence. She was previously the Head of Operational Transformation at Salary Finance, where she led international teams and oversaw strategic projects. Hope’s passion for customer-centric solutions and her drive to streamline processes align perfectly with Konfir’s mission to revolutionise the employment and income verification market. Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and provide cutting-edge employment verification solutions to our clients. 


Tell us a bit about your background

I’ve spent my career so far in the world of fintech and financial services, wearing various hats along the way. From working with clients on technical implementation projects to growing SME business segments, managing complex business integrations, data migrations, investment and divestment, and even launching brand-new ventures, it’s been a diverse journey. Lately, I’ve been leading international operations teams across the UK and India, tackling everything from customer service, to handling complaints and technical incidents, to overseeing strategic transformation projects.

A clear trend throughout my career has been my drive to make things as fair, simple and straightforward as possible for customers, clients, and my team members. This isn’t always easy when you’re dealing with complex data or financial products. I’m always one to get stuck into the details when it comes to compliance, data security and developing customer-centric solutions. 

I also love working with smart and motivated people, whether it’s solving a problem with peers or helping team members learn new stuff and develop their careers. Building a strong, happy team who are all oriented around a clear mission is incredibly satisfying.

What excites you about Konfir’s mission?

The verification market is undergoing a massive transformation. It is the key to many of the big milestones in a person’s life such as getting a new job, renting a new flat or applying for a mortgage. Unfortunately, today, it’s really difficult for both individuals and businesses to get through that process. I’ve definitely been frustrated in the past when I’ve been left hunting for my payslips, trying to get into online banking or chasing my HR department for a letter to confirm my identity and information. 

Konfir’s mission is thrilling because it’s all about addressing these issues to help people progress seamlessly through life’s most important events. In a world where trust and security are paramount, Konfir is on a mission to provide cutting-edge verification and risk solutions. Being part of a company that can make entire industries more secure and efficient is incredibly motivating. 

In today’s fast-paced, tech-driven world, more and more activities are shifting online, from signing up for a bank to getting a new job or applying for a mortgage. As individuals and businesses embrace this change the verifications market is stepping up to enable the essential data accessibility, trust, and security infrastructure needed to support this transformation.

What drew you to your field?

I’ve always been drawn to businesses with a strong social mission. I’m passionate about finding ways to make people’s lives easier and more secure and really want to feel like I’m having a positive impact on the world.

Finance can be intimidating for many, and fintech offers a chance to demystify it, making financial services more inclusive and user-friendly. That blend of technology and social impact is what initially drew me in and continues to drive my career. While working in fintech it became clear that verification of a person’s identity and attributes was full of friction and therefore frustrates customers and costs businesses a lot of time and effort.

My transition to Operations was motivated by a recognition that as businesses expand, it’s easy to lose focus on the core mission: serving the customer. As an Operations Leader, I can directly champion customer needs, streamline processes, and guide my teams to prioritise what truly matters.

How do you keep busy outside of work?

Outside of work, my favourite thing in the world is to go scuba diving. You are totally weightless and able to drift along seeing all kinds of amazing things under the ocean. Sadly I don’t get to go very often, but with the move to Konfir allowing me to work from anywhere I’m hopeful that I will be able to do it more!

I also spent a number of years working with individuals in Uganda and refugees in London who own small businesses. I was supporting them to develop their ideas and grow their business through testing and learning.

What do you enjoy most about working at a start-up?

It’s got to be the freedom and the energy. Everyone I’ve worked with has been incredibly passionate about what they do and really focused on working together to solve the problems in front of us. 

You’re not just a cog in the machine; you’re a key player shaping the company’s future. I love the close-knit team, the chance to try out new ideas, and the feeling that every day is an opportunity to make a big impact. It keeps you on your toes and excited to come to work every day.
