His expertise will be instrumental as we continue to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions to our candidates and clients.

Tell us a bit about your background

I’ve spent most of my career in UX design in the fintech and research industries, where I developed a deep passion for user research and design systems.

My journey began as a UX researcher in South Korea, where I conducted extensive behavioural and user-attitude research. This experience laid a solid foundation for understanding user needs and behaviours. After moving to London, I transitioned into a UX designer role, specialising in UX research and design. This unique combination of skills allows me to approach design with a comprehensive understanding of what truly matters when it comes to user experience.

Joining Konfir has been an exciting opportunity to expand my responsibilities. Here, I am involved in a broad spectrum of tasks, from refreshing our brand and building our website to improving the platform for all our users. One of my first major projects was launching Konfir’s new website, aimed at transforming how we communicate our solutions and benefits to various markets.

I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to create something exceptional with our inspired team members. Working in a smaller team compared to my previous roles means increased responsibility, but I am thoroughly enjoying the dynamic changes and the collaborative spirit at Konfir.

What excites you about Konfir’s mission

Konfir’s mission to remove friction from life’s key events deeply resonates with me. Having spent the past seven years living in London, I’ve encountered numerous challenges with renting, securing a mortgage, and changing jobs. These processes were often time-consuming and frustrating, mainly due to the manual and error-prone nature of the respective industries.

I vividly recall almost losing out on securing a mortgage due to a broker’s manual error. This experience underscored the critical need for streamlined, reliable services in these areas.

At Salary Finance, I conducted user research on Work Report, a product later acquired by Experian. We were in the early stages of developing MVP products to validate employment data connection methods and user acceptance. Seeing how far this product has come over the past three years and how it’s now significantly helping people is truly inspiring. I am eager to bring this kind of transformative impact to Konfir, making these vital life processes smoother for everyone involved.

What do you expect User experience and Design at Konfir to look like 12 months from now.

Over the next 12 months, I anticipate a significant evolution in User Experience and Design at Konfir, focusing on three main areas: trust, brand, and collaborative workflows.

Upholding trust from users is essential. We plan to improve on this by ensuring our top-notch security and privacy measures are adequately communicated, and by minimising friction throughout our user journeys. Attention to UX writing, tone of voice, and journey optimsation will be critical in reassuring our clients and users as they navigate our platform for verification processes.

We have also started our journey to modernise our brand experience and design system to ensure we deliver a consistently top-notch experience across all our products. This updated design system will empower our internal teams to implement changes swiftly and effectively.

Continuing with our successful iterative approach to delivery at Konfir, we will make data-driven decisions, employing A/B testing and user research to fine-tune our product and design strategies. I intend to leverage my expertise to create a systematic method for building and enhancing our systems, making our processes as robust as possible.

Collaboration will be key. Effective design plays a central role in integrating agile practices across our team, so we need to ensure it remains a unifying element of our work. By balancing discovery of new ideas with efficient delivery of products, we aim to create significant value and foster strong cooperation between our Business and Engineering teams. Ultimately, this approach will lead to high-impact solutions for our users.
